Originally part of the Elf-Aquitaine Group, Sanofi developed in the 80s, a veterinary distribution business through a subsidiary company: Sanofi Animal Health.
In 1999, Sanofi Animal Health became in independent entity, under the name of CEVA Animal Health. CEVA was initially renowned for its specialty based on aceturate (VERIBEN), and continued its development in the fight against trypanosomiasis, expanding its range with VERIDIUM (Isometamidium) and VERIBEN B 12, thus enhancing its position as a specialist.
Strategically present in Africa, Ceva Animal Health set up subsidiaries in each of the Maghreb countries, South Africa, Egypt and covers the entire sub-Saharan Africa through a distribution network.
The constant presence of Ceva teams with clients and partners has enabled the region to resist and for CEVA to maintain its position as a business leader in difficult markets with few regulations.
In 2011, the Western and Eastern distribution regions united to become the Tropical Africa zone.
